# Abstract

As the human species experiences an accelerated rate of digital transformation, new challenges and opportunities arise to protect the security and privacy of individuals and collectives while empowering identity, access, ownership, and consensus into the digital frontier. Likewise, organizations have growing responsibility and liability risks to secure the storage and transmission of data containing personally identifying information of its members and associations. New technologies enable modern humans, with a myriad of digital expressions of connectivity and activity, to effectively self-organize collective resources into verifiable results on an unprecedented level.

Utilizing Zero-Knowledge (ZK) proofs and unique biometric identifiers from Humanode, zkHumans proposes a protocol and platform of reusable building blocks whereby the properties of definitive biometric identification of individuals and strong security and privacy of identity exist simultaneously for the following:

• administered and self-organization of individuals into collectives and collectives into supercollectives as higher orders of organization
• self-sovereign biometric-powered digital identity for individuals and extend functionality of digital identity to collective identity; enabling individuals within collectives and collectives within other collectives to prove their membership without revealing their identity
• separate process of having or acquiring certified qualification from the process of demonstrating verified proof of it for ultimate data security
• facilitate scalable verifiable collective activities while guaranteeing security and privacy, including:
  • Authentication and Access
  • Association (membership)
  • Resource ownership, management, and exchange
  • Decision making (voting and real-time consensus)
